Marcel Lucont Reviews ALSO. . .🔥
If you’ve been part of ALSO before, you’ll be familiar with flâneur, raconteur, bon-viveur, Marcel Lucont. Every year, Marcel brings his cult hit Cabaret Fantastique to ALSO with a panoply of performers as part of a wild Friday night soirée, with the Dining Tent transformed into our own bistro de Paris.
Now, Marcel has blessed us with his review of ALSO25 — an honour for us, as you can imagine. Read on for his pearls of Gallic wisdom . . .
“As an extremely in-demand performer at festivals around the world, I have a greater insight than many of you into that realm and I must say, ALSO is a fascinating creature for me, a breath of fresh air (as long as you stand up-wind from whatever they’ve decided to symbolically burn that year).
While some festivals seem to actively cater for the stupid, ALSO in fact aims for the smarter end of the human spectrum. Sure, there are things I would do differently were I in charge — let us never forget the canned wine incident of 2022, and my proposals for a floating orgy stage have been callously rejected multiple times — but overall I give my considerable approval to this festival.
If you absolutely insist on getting your entertainment, cuisine and societal insights in a field rather than a building that has been designed for such things, this festival is the connoisseur’s choice.”
Marcel is currently touring Marcel Lucont’s Whine List and Les Enfants Terribles — A Gameshow For Awful Children. And of course, you can treat your ears to The Marcel Lucont’s Whine List podcast at any time.
