Back in April we were incredibly proud to announce that Shambala became the UK’s very first employee-owned festival, with the founders handing over their beloved festival baby to the team that work year round to make it happen.
Yesterday, we marked the occasion with a proper ceremony and raised a glass with all the co-owners, to radical independence, to friendship, and to our continuing adventures in utopia.
Placing Shambala’s ownership in the hands of its employees, via an Employee Ownership Trust, ensures that its founding ethos – creativity, sustainability, independence and community – remains protected for years to come.
